Several agencies and organizations require participating landowners to prepare some form of a management plan for their forested properties. These entities have now cooperated to develop a single set of management plan guidelines that will simultaneously allow landowners to qualify for multiple programs. Plans prepared according to the new guidelines should meet the requirements for:
- The DNR Forest Stewardship Program
- USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Farm Bill Programs
- American Tree Farm System Certification
- Current Use Property Tax Programs
The guidelines were cooperatively developed by the USDA Forest Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service, Washington Department of Natural Resources, Washington Department of Revenue, and Washington Tree Farm Program. For a copy of the new guidelines, click here.
